Obstacles will disappear in 2D map, but it will still exist in 3D point could

Hi All,

We find a issue about topic "proj_map". When we put a obstacle in view around, it will appear in 3D/2D windows. But when we move the little cart to near the obstacle, the obstacle will be out from camera view. In 3D window we can still see the point could of the obstacle, but in 2D window we find the obstacle will disappear. We don't know why it will disappear in 2D window. You know, we think 2D map will be created by point could. But in 3D point could the obstacle still exists.

Thanks you in advance.

Bai

Hi,

For the 2D map, ray tracing looks enabled, try uncheck it:

In the 3D map view, the map shown are the raw point clouds without any ray tracing (e.g., dynamic objects are not removed). To see a 3D map with ray tracing, we should check "3D" box under "Local Occupancy Grid" panel and enable OctoMap under Preferences->3D Rendering->Grid Map Assembling. You may want to hide the raw point cloud under 3D Rendering, uncheck "Map" to better see the OctoMap.

cheers,
Mathieu
