Which mode is currently active? Mapping or localization?

Hello,

I have been looking for way to find out if the robot is in localization or mapping mode on runtime. My first thought was the parameter IncrementalMemory, but it seems that it is not updated on /set_mode_mapping or /set_mode_localization service calls.

Is there some neat way to find out which mode is currently active?
