I want to make sure I understood you correctly. Are you suggesting to use a camera + RTAB to figure out the pose of the camera. Then compute the pose of the LiDAR. And then use the pose of the LiDAR to transform LiDAR's scans (point clouds) into a common coordinate frame.
I'll look into power requirements. As far as processing power, I can afford to do processing offline.
