Thanks for the explanation which makes perfect sense.  And yes, regarding the parameter warnings, I have been flipping back and forth between a Hydro machine and an Indigo machine and I wasn't paying close enough attention to the startup messages.  I just now ditched Hydro once and for all so that all of my machines are running Indigo.
