RTAB-Map is
a RGB-D SLAM approach (in the common sense) with real-time constraints, not based on the
RGBDSLAM project.
You say "But here it lacks the information of the localization", what kind of localization information you are referring?
For the Localization button, the documentation needs an update. The workflow has changed in the last weeks. The Localization mode is in the Detection menu as shown below. However, calling "rosservice call /rtabmap/set_mode_localization" should have worked too. Note that the Localization mode is exactly like the Mapping mode but no new data is added to the map.
