Hi @nathgilson! Yes, I'm working on a project related to last mile delivery robots. I'm developing a master thesis about stereo vision and autonomous navigation. The goal is to address the tradeoffs regarding the two main technologies for localization ( Lidars and RGBD ). I'm currently working on it and still have to start the experimental session.

My first impression is that it would be possible to do autonomous navigation without lidars provided a serie of constraints which are valid for an urban navigation ( e.g. navigation on sidewalks ). I will keep you updated.
