I tried the octomap with spiri_simulator which uses ground truth and nav. There is no other localization module but even with this I could not generate a 3D map.

$ roslaunch spiri_description move_it_spiri.launch

$ roslaunch rtabmap_ros demo_robot_localization.launch rtabmapviz:=false rviz:=false

$ rosrun octomap_server octomap_server_node cloud_in:=/rtabmap/cloud_map
