I have investigated this for a long time.
I am still able to successfully publish a calibrated RGB (100✕70) image with my own calibration node, which supports RGB images (1920✕1080) to depth images (100✕70).
There is no significant discrepancy between the timestamps of each Msg (up to about 50ms).
I'm thinking that too low resolution is a factor, but I doubt it.
